Early Childhood Development Center (ECD)
Project Overview
The Foundation to Empower Students (FES), Pakistan, is dedicated to advancing Early Childhood Development (ECD) in underserved regions across Chitral, Pakistan. Recognizing that existing education systems often neglect the critical developmental needs of children under six years old, FES has taken the lead in addressing this gap. In partnership with the World Education Foundation (WEF) and other governmental and non-governmental organizations, FES establishes ECD centers that provide safe, engaging environments for children aged 3-5.
These centers are equipped with specialized furniture, tools, and materials designed to promote physical, socio-emotional, and cognitive growth. A key feature of the centers is the presence of certified Montessori teachers, whose expertise fosters a nurturing and stimulating learning experience. These educators play a vital role in enhancing children’s sensory perceptions and supporting their holistic development during these formative years.
Through these initiatives, FES is dedicated to creating lasting change in the lives of young children in marginalized communities, laying the groundwork for a brighter and more promising future.
Current Impact
Located within a low-cost private school, our Early Childhood Development Centre in Booni. Chitral is the first in the area to implement the Montessori Method. We take pride in our fully equipped ECD center, which adheres to the core principles of Maria Montessori. Our dedicated teachers are certified by the Pakistan Montessori Council, ensuring high standards of education.
Our Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre goes beyond traditional teaching methods by actively involving parents through parent-teaching sessions, classroom observations, and storytelling activities.
Currently, the center caters to 40 children aged 3–5 years across two sessions, fostering a dynamic, student-centered learning environment. Over the past three years, our ECD Centre has successfully graduated 120 students, and we are excited to continue making a positive impact on the lives of many more young learners in the future.
